Wow, the answerers who are the Obama supporters are certainly an illustrious group! Now, to your question: He's wearing one now because he's been criticized for not wearing one and he wants to get elected. This man will do anything to get elected. Trash his grandmother, pastor (he should have never sat under such racist teaching), switch sides on many issues back and forth so fast it'll make your head swing. But if you really listen to what he is saying, he really doesn't make any sense at all. It's just a lot of pandering to folks that have had a rough time of it and are looking for a hand out. But where is the money going to come from? The rich? Because they work harder? That's ridiculous. I'm all for helping the elderly, sick, and mentally ill; but able bodied people should earn it for themselves. Whether he wears the lapel pin or not, he's still gonna raise your taxes.

He has been wearing one lately, but only after enough people have criticized him for not wearing one. Now I think that he should have worn one from the get go, but the fact that he caved in and started wearing one is an example of how weak and spineless he is. If he didn't want to wear one he should have stood his ground, and not worn one regardless of the pressure that he felt from naysayers. Is this really the kind of sniveling weakling that we want to represent us against Al-Qaeda?

It's his choice. by not having one does not make him less of an American. It makes him his own man. Why does he have to wear a stupid pin to make you happy, what does it prove. If his not wearing it can get people like you so upset I'm glad that he doesn't

Frankly, I never really cared about the pin itself. His remarks about wearing the pin, that it serves (at least in some cases) as a "substitute" for patriotism can be viewed as elitist. But then, he's not that good at extemporaneous speaking.
