What do you think of another national 55mph speed limit?

This is being proposed by the democrats now for a new law to save gas. I think it's ridiculous to go back to that and force people to drive under 55 again after we just went through all of that and raised them back to where they are now. If people want to save gas they should have the CHOICE to drive slower - not be FORCED to. But yet everyone will FIGHT for their CHOICE for abortion which results in death, not just a slight increase in gas usage. WTF is going on in this country?

Sounds good to me! Then everyone that likes to drive 70-75 mph on roads now listed as 65 mph limit will still be doing 70-75, and it means more revenue from speeding tickets.
Our department pays for additional equipment with revenues generated from fines, and we could use more equipment.
(Before you ask, No we do not run "speed traps". People are dumb enough to speed without us having to resort to that.)

I personally don't like gov't intrusion in my life, speed limits are just another useless law, so are all the other useless laws like mandotry drivers license renewals, at $30 every couple years, what I suddedly forget how to drive, or vehicle registration, its my car, i should not have to give the state a penny every year, I am punished for having a nice car $250 a year.
The gov't powers are in Section 1 Article 8 of the Constitution, outside of that, leave me alone.

Ever try to drive across Pennsylvania at 55? Takes about a week...

A worthless effort.
More should be done to go nuclear, solor, geothermal, domestic drilling and conservation in order to get off oil.

The solution is not one one source but many.

I think it is ludicrous. To answer your last question, I don't know but it's pretty sad...
