Bush wanted to cut medicare payments/benefits to 'relieve the burden' on insurance companies!?

What do you think his next assault on the American people in his pursuit of corporate welfare will be ?

Probably cutting VA benefits.

He has already tried that more than once, the creep.

It has nothing to do with Bush.

Congress passed a law, that makes automatic cuts in medicare payments,

Unless Congress votes to suspend those cuts.

That law has been on the books long before Bush was elected.

What exact corporate welfare are you talking about ?

Like maybe the Democratic bill to subsidize corporate farmers who make more than $500,000 a year ?

Over Republican objection, the republicans wanted it to be only family farms and under $200,000.

The insurance business makes more profit than the oil companies. What "burden" do they have?

His veto really realted to the Medicare Advantage program which offered people enrolled in the program more choice in their medical care. Don't believe the few snippets you read in the paper. Journalists don't do a very good job of presenting complete facts and good analysis these days.

It is just "pro business" as usual. But now you can forget about all that. You will have to get a good old fashioned attitude like people adopted in the Thirties. Hard work and damned glad of anything you can get.

Why can't voters understand that the cornerstone of american capitalism is based on cheap labor? Workers and greedy unions have brought it upon themselves. Now we will see who wants to work.
