How does moving home can affect my dog (scottish terrier) temper?

We just moved to a bigger and nicer house. We are happy except by the behaviour of our lovely scottish terrier. She is very disciplined to leave her stuff in the spot that we pick, and she did it the first day. But after the second day she started to drop poop and pee everywere else. Even dropping part of the pee in her spot and the rest in the middle of our living room. What can I do?

It could be that there was another animal in the house before you moved in. Besides moving/territorial stress, she could be smelling the accidents of a former occupant and is basically marking her territory.

If she isn't spayed, do so. Clean all of her accidents with an enzyme-based cleaner like Nature's Miracle. Use vinegar and water at a minimum, but the enzyme cleaner is better.

Other than that you're back to puppy training. Get her to her spot within 15 minutes of eating or drinking and stay with her until she goes. You may even need to restrict her food and water to four times a day, letting her have as much as she wants each time, but then getting her over to her spot until she goes.

Back up on her housetraining and treat her like you did when she was a puppy (just temporarily). She may just be confused about where she's supposed to go. Keep her in the room with you when you're home and crated when you're not. Got out with her, give her whatever command you use, lots of praise the split second she goes, then right back in.

Once she's back on track (and it likely won't take long at all), she should be ok again. Just a thought - are you sure it might not be a physical issue - a UTI maybe? Perhaps she should have a trip to the vet first to rule that out.

She's very stressed right now. Her enviornment has completely and very drastically changed, and its typical for dogs to become confused and have accidents in the house.

Max had a problem with sleep overs when he would spend the night with me at a friends house, he'd use the restroom in their house too and he's impeccably house trained.

The best thing to do is follow her around like a hawk and make strides towards re-house training her. When she goes to the restroom where you point, give her lots of encouragement and treats for her excellent behavior.

I would also spray the carpets down with a deodorizer that discourages dogs from using the bathroom in or near that area. Crate her when you can't watch her, and always let her out after eating or drinking, and especially after waking up or playing.

Give her time to adjust. She doesn't understand that you've moved to a bigger, nicer house. To her she's in a completely new place and doesn't understand why. It would probably help to crate train her so she feels more comfortable, and put the crate in your room to make her feel more comfortable.

Also, if she was used to going potty in one specific spot in the house, she probably doesn't understand where to go now. Praise her for going where she should, don't punish!

i'd propose a head lead, reliable short leash, harness, and corrective treats. dogs that are aggressive in route of alternative animals are extremely in simple terms showing an apprehension. The dogs of route has issues of alternative animals, it may no longer were with its muddle associates lengthy adequate, it would want to were attacked by technique of yet another dogs before she were given it, or the breeder in simple terms did not socialize it with different litters. some thing is conceivable. the perfect approach that i have EVER considered on dogs aggressive dogs is taking them to an section the position dogs are VERY renowned and surrounding. Leash/harness/head lead the dogs and walk the dogs. even as it begins to bark or growl, redirect the interest to a favourite toy or take care of. Do it each and every time the dogs begins to act up. eventually, the dogs will associate a dogs coming by technique of to a reward. The dogs needs to renowned the different dogs, yet he needs to dismiss them quickly after. And redirection and distraction are a thanks to bypass. good success! upload: Jessay, you have become TD's because you're advocating putting a dogs-aggressive-dogs in a project the position it would want to damage yet another dogs or be heavily injured itself. This dogs isn't the same old D-A-D, its sparkling that a petsmart coach (even as i do no longer down them, as i'm one) gained't have the adventure to coach.
