I am voting for a third party candidate already. Whether or not he wins is a secondary concern to me. I support Barr's platform. I do not support Obama or McCain. So win or lose I will vote for the best candidate in my opinion. I am through voting for the lesser of 2 evils which seems to be the favored method of choice for party loyalists these days. I don't know how many times a day I see people who don't really support their party's candidate, but are so afraid of the opposition candidate that they will vote for him anyway. Frankly it justs makes me sad. Quality leadership has fallen victim to the politics of fear and resistance to change.

In the US system voting for a third party say like Bill Barr or Ross Perot or Nadar it is consider a waste of a ballott.
Luckily in Canada we have a third party the New Democratic Party, a fourth, the Green, in Quebec the Bock, as well as lots of little religious parties etc.
Generally the bigger parties get more votes and thereby, except for Quebec and the Bloc, get to say who is PM. Vive la difference!

I will probably do so even without any chance of victory.
I feel that neither major party candidate has earned my vote. A third-party candidacy that attracts substantial support does have an effect - if not this year, in the future, by showing the major parties where the "missing votes" are and giving them an incentive to try to attract those votes.

i vote third party regardless because the 2 major parties always offer the same solution to our problems. bigger government. problem is, thats what caused the issue in the first place. if you dont vote for a third party candidate because you think they will not win, they will never win. its a flaw in logic many fail to see. also, the history of third parties in this countries shows that if they steal enough votes from the major parties, the major parties start changing their policies to more reflect those of the third party. therefore voting for a third party can be considered a victory even if that candidate doesnt actually win the election.

I vote for the best candidate. All candidates should be considered. If more voters voted for a third party candidate then even more voters would vote for a third party candidate. Most voters tend to want to vote for the candidate that is going to win. Third party candidates need to be more enthusiastic about their platform and really expect to win if they want people to vote for them. If the candidate is enthusiastic about the platform and the solutions offered by the platform for the problems facing the United States of America, voters willbe inspired to vote for that candidate. New ideas too, help set third party candidates apart and distinguish them from the rest of the pack of potenital candidates, as well as new solutions to existing problems. The more enthusiastic the candidate is about the platform and goals to be achieved the more voter will be inspired to vote for that candidate. As more voters decide to support a candidate, more will condider the idea presented by that candidate. Voters will tend to support reasonable solutions to convential problems, even if the solutions innovative, as long as they can be explained to the public in a sensible manner. The short answe to your question is that THERE IS OPPORUNITY FOR A THIRD PARTY VICTORY BUT THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS FACT BEFORE IT CAN HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!
