Price check for a Ithaca M6 Survival Rifle - .22 Hornet & .410

A friend of mine has one of these and wants to sell it so I wanted to check if anyone could give me a price idea. They seem to be pretty rare as I couldnt find any in the auction sites even when looking at the ones that actually sold in the last 90 days. His is in excellent condition probably around 90-95%. Send me your email and I can send you pics if needed.

I also read somewhere that there are additional requirements to own one of these similar to those of a full auto. Is this correct? If so, what is the reason for this since the Springfield model doesnt require it. Is it because of its smaller size?

Thanks in advance!!

DJ I believe you are correct as far as the model and its restrictions here in the US (matches what I have read). Fortunately for him he is located overseas so those restrictions do not apply to him. He was wanting an estimated value here in the US so as to try to determine a possible value at his location. He thought he had seen it in the past near the $2.5K level...

I am curious now as to where he got it from....

Unless I'm mistaken the Ithaca version was the military configuration....which means he's got a 14 inch rifle and shotgun combo, both restricted. This is going to fall under the Class III heading and it's going to be taxed. If he's not currently legal with possession of this firearm, you are exposing him to some undue legal scrutiny by discussing it here.

Edit: In that case, you not only need to get approved and buy the stamp for the Class III, you need to get it imported as well. I'd advise you find an importer who can handle the Class III, not going to be cheap. I have imported several C&Rs and it was a bit of a process. It likely came out of a USAF or USN plane....that's where they were issued originally, especially the early Ithaca models.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Not illegal to own, but who knows how your uncle came to have it, hopefully it is not stolen government property. Springfield Armory produced that rifle as the M6 Scout, as recently as 2008.
