It's possible that it was burned too fast, even if the burner software said it was OK. In the unix world I see perfectly good downloads that won't run because they were burned too fast, or burned on a DVD burner (tinier dots rather than a CD burner).

Try it on a CD burner that is not a DVD burner too.. Shouldn't be a difference, but I see it all the time. Slow it down, and use a CD machine instead of a DVD machine.

And sometimes the CD player is just getting old and not tracking quite right.

Things to try.. Good luck!!

To the dude above me --
Limewire is legal. That's why their site is still up and running -- we're not "Stealing" anything. Kthx.

Also, I would recommend using a different program to burn CD's, such as RealPlayer or Roxio. It should take a bout 2-3 minutes to burn a CD. IF this doesn't work, try a different brand of CD's, although I've used Memorex before, and it always seemed to work fine.

Try to play the CD in any system possible -- a PS2, a car CD player, and stereo system. It might not be an issue with the CD or your computer (although it certainly sounds like it).

Good luck!

After you burn the music files onto your cd, have you closed the cd itself? To do this, I believe, with Vista, go to the My Computer screen where it shows all of the drives on your computer. Right click on the disk drive that has burnt the cd, and choose the Close Session option. If you don't close a cd when it's written, it will only be readable by the device that recorded it. Try this, and hopefully that solves your problem. If not, download a free burning program, such as Ashampoo. Search Download.com and the likes. Good luck.

It could be that you are burning the MP3s in the format not to be played in an audio device, just on a pc. Im not familiar with the settings in Limewire, but in ITunes you have to specify if the tracks to be burnt are for use in a pc, or for playing in a hi-fi, car etc.
