Do you consider this when you vote?

Disgusted. They steal my money to give it to able-bodied people so they don't have to contribute to society.
We have plenty of money to take care of those who NEED it - the disabled, the working poor, the people who are in TEMPORARY crisis. However, why - for 18 years - must I support some idiot who gets herself knocked up?
Let's stop the hand-out programs so that we have enough money to help those who are actually trying. If you work, but don't earn enough to get by, we will SUPPLEMENT your income and help you get training so you can get a better job. However, the free ride must stop. It has created the inner city gang problems.
It is the major factor in how I vote. Stop taking my money to buy votes from others!
Charity should go back to being privately run so that the abusers can't live off the benefactors forever. In a private program, they are weeded out. When the government runs the show, there's no penalty for not trying to help yourself. In fact, you are rewarded for being more needy.
Stupid.

The government has some excellent programs that serves people well. Without a doubt, I believe there should be more government involvement in a national health care program and job creation. This coming from a suburban New Yorker with the highest property taxes in the country, and the highest sales tax in the country. By property taxes, I know a few who pay $15,000 a year. That's Long Island, NY. Here in the NY Metro region there are 18 million people. We need prisons to handle the bad apples, we need medicare for the seniors, and we need playground and parks for kids. When I vote rarely do I consider taxes since I visit the park often and feel protected by our police department, where many police officers earn over $100,000 a year. Living in the poshest suburb in this country is way different than living in the middle of rural countryside.

Considering that they paid for a transvestite beauty pageant because they called it an "AIDS awareness rally" to the tune of over $100,000.00 with my tax dollars, and thousands of other stupid pet projects, I am absolutely disgusted by how they spend our money.
to the first Mike...You are partially correct. The government does provide police, roads, etc...but they are not even good at that. Why is it that when a project is government ran (such as painting a government building) the wages go up for the painters to "prevailing wage"? It is because the companies screw the government and the government pays the extra without questions, but they must have wages and costs which add up. Several years ago, my brother was a painter working for another company. When he worked on government contract work, his wages went from $14.00/hr to $26.00/hr just because it was "prevailing wage". NO! The government does not do a good job at anything. They could not even run their own deli without having to turn it over to the private sector because they were running a deficit. GET A CLUE! Our government is the most wasteful "business" on the planet. If a private sector was run so poorly, it would not last a month.
Joe...I would love to see a link where anyone is being told not to show up for work. As for the wall, I agree, it is kind of a waste when we could just cut off 100% of entitlements of any kind and fine $50,000 for first offense of employing an illegal and $500,000 and 5 years for a second offense, then declare that any illegal caught in the US after one year from today would NEVER be allowed to come to America legally after that time we would see a great Exodus of illegals. They would self-deport. The savings from this act alone would make a dent in the deficit. Then if we revamped entitlement programs so they actually rewarded those who work, rather than punish them...as they do today...(thank you liberals for the idiotic formula), then we would wipe out unemployment, illegal immigration, and the deficit within 1 year. But the government does not have the balls.

I couldn't be more satisfied by the way they spend my money. I mean without the government I wouldn't be able to find employment to make the money for them to spend. Granted I have trouble making ends meet every month. But that is not their fault. I just need to work harder to make more. As for using this for considering on how I vote. No I wouldn't say that it has much or any bearing on that. Dem or Rep I don't care who wins an election. As long as they keep telling me how to live my life so I don't have to worry about it. That way I can work more, earn more to send to them to spend.
Thank you and have a nice day.

How do I feel? Answer: helpless.
No matter whether you vote for a Democrat or a Republican they will spend more money than they take in. Democrats will raise taxes; Republicans will increase deficit spending even more than Democrats and maybe cut taxes and borrow from China.
I'll vote Libertarian, which is the only way I can express my objection to what is happening.
