I shared a room with my sister. We had twin beds, our own chest of drawers but shared a vanity and mirror. There was never a private moment. I love to read in a quiet place but that was not possible. Sister was always in there with her transistor radio blaring ! A lot of times she had friends in there too, She was not a reader or book worm like me (that's what she called me) To me she was just annoying and we hardly ever got along. I swore that when I had kids they would never have to share a room. Poppy

I hope that in the intervening years you have patched things up with sis. I shared a room with my younger brother and the same thing happened, but after we became adults, we resolved our childhood differences.
I was the only girl and had to share a room with my little brother until I was 13 yrs old! At which time I took a very small room (really just a storage space but enough to jam a single bed into) and put a curtin on the door (as there was no door) and put shelves up on the wall to hold books, etc. There was no heating duct in there either (lol) I moved out and was on my own by 17 right after I graduated high school - so only 4 yrs of that.
Yes I did Poppy! W/ my very angry older sister ...she would crawl into my bed afraid every night, but god forbid I even look at her any other time ,or she would flatten me! she would run tape down the middle of the room ,and if I would even put a toe on her side, look out, the fists' would fly...I now have 3 kids of my own , and thank god every day that, I am the type of mom who does not put up w/ any of that BS!!! they all share 1 room out of necessity and they are all boys all close in age. it is a big room. they like it. I think they seem to find comfort in it. May be when the oldest hits teens we will have to look for a larger home, but right now it is all we can do to fill the gas tank!
Yes I shared a room with my older sister. We had twin beds and a night stand in the middle with two drawers, one mine and one hers. We had a double dresser I got half the drawers and she got the other half. We had a desk which was hers completely. I had to do my homework on the kitchen table. But, I got to eat while I did my homework because we weren't allowed to take food in the bedroom. We shared a closet until I was about 9 and then I came home from school one day to find that I had my very own closet in the hall way. I thought I was so lucky. I showed everyone my very own closet. We did listen to the radio long after we were suppose to be asleep. Sometimes I would fall asleep and she would always turn it off so we wouldn't get caught. We talked about all kinds of things and sometimes she would read to me until I fell asleep. Very fond memories and I think it made us very close. When I had my own children, I had two a boy and a girl so they each had their own room but they had 6 bedrooms to choose from and they picked rooms right next to each other and I could hear them talking at night.
Yes I did. We put chalk marks and tape and string and everything down the middle. I was 15 when my parent took an extra large closet and made me a room It had room for my bed and a small chest. It was mine. I could barely turn around. My sister was 10. No she didn't get the bigger room, she had to share with another sister because a new baby was there.
