I have just started my AS levels (UK) and my friend says i do not have the correct choices at A level to get into my desired Universities. I am wanting to go to Warwick or London Business and being rather intelligent i thought i would be ok with getting decent GCSE's 13 A* - C's and thought that the subject choices of Business Studies, ICT, Maths and Geography were a good choices. Though apparently Business and ICT are seen as 'weak' subjects, is this true and if so help?

it depends what you want to do in university for example, if you want to go into medicine you need science a-levels e.g. chemistry, biology etc. Most degrees specify what they require e.g. 2 B's and a C to get in. If they want you to have a specific subject at A-level they will state so otherwise I wouldn't worry. Look at the prospectus' of unis you want to go to. Don't worry too much coz you can go through clearing and till get into a good university. I didn't do Psychology at A-level but I went through clearing and got into Goldsmiths university of London and achieved a 2:1 Honours degree in BSc Psychology. It sounds like your friends are just trying to make you worry. You'll be fine.
Do not worry about it...It makes sense to be studying business considering that you want to go onto a degree in business or economics. Ignore the comments that they are seen as weak subjects...most universities require that you have the points that you need from your grades and it doesn't even matter what subject they are in. Stick with what you have got and get good grades and everything will be fine.
