What do you think of my experimental recipe?

This is a poor man's offshoot of the Zombie cocktail (ironically, I could not get my hands on any Triple Sec, who'da thunk?)
I have what I used in parentheses.

1 oz Light rum (Bacardi Silver)
1 oz Dark rum (Bacardi Gold)
1/2 oz Grenadine (Rose's Grenadine)
1/2 oz Triple Sec (I used diet Pepsi and lemon juice - yeah I know)
1 oz Brandy (E&J Brandy)
2 oz lime juice (I used 1 oz conc. lemon juice)
2 oz sour mix (I used 1/2 oz conc. lemon juice mixed with a couple tblsp of Splenda)

Mix them in shaker with ice and then top with splash of rum (Hmm, maybe I should have done that, I mixed them and put a splash of diet pepsi and brandy on top).

It is bittersweet, but I like it. Anyone give it a try? How about tips to improve it? I'm all ears.

Oh, I'm thinking of calling it "Hell on Earth" (not sure if that is taken).

Hey, I'm diabetic. And it is for mood elevation, I'm grading finals which can be quite depressing. :(

But, you are right, it was too yucky. My next mix was a poor man's Sidecar which was much better.

I think it is dumb to drink such strong cocktails. The purpose of cocktails is to enhance mood and socializing. This recipe is both too strong and too yucky. Splenda? Bleah!
