If the Iraq defense bill (S.3001) is $611.1 Billion and the economic bailout is $700 Billion, how do we pay Congress and the White House?
The U.S. debt is currently $9.5 TRILLION dollars. Interest is $406 Billion.
Reagan's military cost us $1.6 Trillion. Interest rates almost hit 20%.
We can't afford the "War on Terror", how are we supposed to prop up the financial industry? Why should we? The Republican talk about the Democrats spending, but it's the Republicans who run up the national debt and screw up our economy.
Who's going to pay for Bush's spending?

Crazy, crazy! Bush doesn't "spend" the money. Try congress. Oh, yeah, and congress has a dem majority.
You are hallucinating, Muppet. Interest rates were not 20% under Reagan -they went to 21% under -guess who? Carter, a democrat. Reagan got us out of that mess and restored the economy. You, I suspect, were not even alive at the time.
If we cannot afford the war on terror, then perhaps we should just give up. Give me your street address and I'll send these nice folks with masks and AK47's over to pay you a visit.
And as one other enlightned soul has noted, it is the congress who passes spending bills -not the President- and the comgress as you may discern is populated mainly by -wait for it, Muppet - Democrats!
And, while we're throwing numbers around, how about these: Bush's approval rating? 31%. TERRIBLE. Congress's approval rating: 21% EVEN WORSE.
Now put your head phones back on, stare at the TV and keep away from serious business.
Unfortunately, you and I and our children. For many generations. Everyone can talk about the democrat controlled congress but Bush got us into trouble long before they were on the scene with his Republican friends. It is a travesty. The GOP talks about democrats being spenders. They should look in the mirror. Especially before they start sending billions of dollars a month out of our country for a war that never should have been started.
First, we shouldn't be bailing out failed fat cat executives. Second, we should roll back the tax breaks to the highest earners. Third, we have to get out of Iraq and stop sticking our noses in the world's business. Fourth, we should tax corporations more. What we have already is corporate socialism and the corporation has become the behemoth of capitalism. And if you think implementing 2 & 4 will lead to a massive depression, think about the unbridled spending over a bogus war and the policies which have led us into the gutter. We need sensible regulation and fair taxation.
Republicans don't owe any more than Democrats, Libertarians, and Independents. We are all going to pay for the spending of the Bush Administration and Congress' collusion in all this mess. Blame has to be spread around to include everyone who you and I elected to manage our governmental affairs and failed to do anything but bicker among themselves. Our elected officials had rather attack one another than attack the issues that are important to this country.
