My symbicort inhaler has actually always helped me, but the past few days after I use it my lungs feel like they are closing up. I usually take two puffs each dose and this morning my I was so scared i was about to close up completely after the first puff that I used my rescue inhaler which then opened my lungs up.
Whats the deal? Should I keep using it?

Maybe you developed a inhalational sensitivity to the powder .. I am not sure why this happens ... but there is some anectdotal evidence that this happens ....
You may want to try taking your rescue inhaler first ... then taking your symbicort 15-20 minutes later .... this maybe just that your airways are a little more "twitchy" than usual ..... you may want to make a visit with your doctor and discuss your concerns and findings.....
My overriding concern is that you do not take your medicine and if your on a fringe of a severe bronchial hyperresponsiveness episode, this may tip you into a hospital admission or an ER visit .... not saying that it will ... but .. better safe than sorry?
Asthma is an allergy and is triggered by something. The best non medication treatment for asthma is learning your triggers and avoiding them. Common triggers are smoke, dust, mold, mildew, plants, dust mites, pets and grass/weeds.
If you can not figure our your triggers, you may need to see an allergist and have allergy screening done. This may point out your triggers.
The National Asthma Prevention Program and the Expert Panel of Diagnosis and Management of Asthma both agree if you have to use a prescription inhaler such as albuterol more then two time per week, your asthma is NOT in control and you will need a prescription controller medication.
You may want to talk to your doctor about several strong controller medications and maybe Xolair shots.
If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.
