How much does it cost to rent one of those PODS for storage and moving?

If anyone has ever used one of those PODS that you load up with your stuff and then they either can store it for you or move it to your new home, how much did you spend on that. I see they have a website but I don't want to fill out the form. Just an estimate. Thanks

One place we checked out charged $99. to bring the thing to you, $99. to bring it from your house to the storage unit, the monthly storage charge wasn't too bad, but then you had to pay AGAIN to have the stuff moved to your new place - it is pretty pricey when all is said and done. You're paying for the convenience factor, I guess.

Pods Cost

There is a product that competes with them called Units. You can look them up at www.units storage.com. The rental fees vary depending on the size of the thing, the time frame that you will need it and such.

I am looking at a chart and it looks like the least it will cost would be slightly under $300 for delivery to your house of a 12 foot unit and moved to your new house (as long as you don't use it for more than a month). This includes the tax that you pay around here. It would be slightly over $300 for a 16 foot unit.

If you ask them to store the thing for a few months for you there is an additional cost.

I recently hired a rental moving truck that was about that size and it was also expensive. You just figure out what works best for you.

Pods is expensive - but well worth the cost when you consider you only have to load and unload once as opposed to twice with traditional self storage and a moving truck. I've moved both ways many times and I always use Pods now. And if you use a Pods promo code you can save about 10% - try 'R101' - it worked for me.
