How much does it cost to rent one of those PODS for storage and moving?
If anyone has ever used one of those PODS that you load up with your stuff and then they either can store it for you or move it to your new home, how much did you spend on that. I see they have a website but I don't want to fill out the form. Just an estimate. Thanks

One place we checked out charged $99. to bring the thing to you, $99. to bring it from your house to the storage unit, the monthly storage charge wasn't too bad, but then you had to pay AGAIN to have the stuff moved to your new place - it is pretty pricey when all is said and done. You're paying for the convenience factor, I guess.

There is a product that competes with them called Units. You can look them up at www.units storage.com. The rental fees vary depending on the size of the thing, the time frame that you will need it and such.
I am looking at a chart and it looks like the least it will cost would be slightly under $300 for delivery to your house of a 12 foot unit and moved to your new house (as long as you don't use it for more than a month). This includes the tax that you pay around here. It would be slightly over $300 for a 16 foot unit.
If you ask them to store the thing for a few months for you there is an additional cost.
I recently hired a rental moving truck that was about that size and it was also expensive. You just figure out what works best for you.

Pods is expensive - but well worth the cost when you consider you only have to load and unload once as opposed to twice with traditional self storage and a moving truck. I've moved both ways many times and I always use Pods now. And if you use a Pods promo code you can save about 10% - try 'R101' - it worked for me.

Hi Name Viola Woods how much does it cost to rent one of those pods for storage

I moved from Birmingham, AL to Boise, Idaho and it was $2,900 for the largest POD. My now husband had moved himself the year before and calculated with gas, hotels and UHaul rental it cost him only about $800 less. For the convenience, I would do it again in a heartbeat! ESPECIALLY a long distance like 2,100 miles! My friend used another company that was cheaper...and went from Bham to North Carolina. The unit didn't have great sealing and some of her stuff was wet when it arrived! I was sold on PODS and will always use them from now on!

I moved from Huntsville, AL to Panama City, FL and it cost us almost $2600 in total for a 16' pod and one month of usage.

It depends on what you need. If you just need local storage, it probably comparable to other self storage options when you consider the truck rental and gas.
If you're doing a long distance move, it could vary dramatically depending on where you're moving between and how much you need to move.
You can also research other options at the Mobile Self Storage Association's website (ms-sa.org). They list different companies who have similar services all across the country. (e.g. I work at a Philadelphia Mobile Storage company www.GoFlexBox.com)
Good luck
