When blood pressure falls due to bleeding, it cuts the oxygen supply and vital organ starts to fail. Even if saved from brink of death, damage can cause disability.

What's that have to do with this forum on real estate?

All your respiring cells need oxygen and need carbon dioxide and other waste products to be removed. If there isn't a blood supply to do this, those cells die.

The most important cells in this instance are brain, heart and lung. But everything else won't last much longer.

The brain in particular, is so energy hungry, it can't survive long without blood. Just a few minutes.
