Hi Seniors - have you noticed that gas is going - - - ?

down in price, and in spite of the fact that Hurricane Ike damaged 17 oil rigs in the waters surrounding the USA, and additionally that imported crude and oil prices are less expensive than a month ago? If you have, do you believe that this has anything AT ALL to do with it being an Election Year! CJ

Hi Guys - thanks for all of your input! My Q. was of course, rhetorical? But am glad we are on the same page! Supply & demand has a great deal to do with it. But IT IS STILL AN ELECTION YEAR!

It was 3.38 yesterday where I live CJ, down from 3.59 on Saturday. Amazing isn't it? I feel that supply and demand plays a big part in the price. I also feel that since it is an election year more tidbits will be thrown to the public in an effort to lull us into a false sense of security. Hopefully we will all be smarter than that.
I too want to live were NaNa does. I can't remember the last time I saw gas under 3.00 a gallon. I think it may have been sometime in early 2007.

Gas can be as high as they want it to be or as low as they want it to be. They just think we are going to fall for their cock and bull stories. I don't think so. They will scr-- with us for as long as they think they can get away with it and then drop t he price again.
People are just fed up with the total economic mess and have elected
to Just park their cars and wait it out. Why pay high prices for gas when we all know we don't have to. We are not going to let the greedy oil company's make any more money than they haven't already.
They all will be next in line for a bailout!!!!!!

Hi CJ, glad to see you back on the forum.

Yes I heard on the news that gas prices were dropping. I mean what gives with this game playing?

As of today, it started back up again in my area. The exxon down the road was 3.41 last week, 3.45 today. I do not give exxon my business however, I am still protesting that they have not paid for their oily little mess up in Canada years ago. Where does Na-Na live? at 3.00 gallon it would pay a person to drive there

The price per barrel has dropped by 50 % and the price is not reflecting that drop as yet.
I do not believe it only has to do with our election year. More things factor into this.
