If I'm a resident of Canada, can I collect rent on a property I own in Virginia?

I've just had a very good job offer that I'm considering taking up in Canada. However, I own a home here in the US and we haven't owned it that long. If possible, can I rent the property and collect income from the US while I'm living in the North.

Of course you can. Your only problem may be administering the rental from afar. If you have trusted friends or family who are willing to deal with the tenant, upkeep etc, good, but if not you may want to consider a rental agent who can collect the rent, find new renters if needed, and look after any problems.

If you own the property you can rent it and collect rent and if doesn't matter whee you live.

If you own a property you own it. You'll probably get taxed extra though.
