Math question help!!!!!?

An ice cream stand sells single dipped cones for 1.75 and double dipped cones for 2.25. Yesterday, 500 cones were sold for 930.00. How many single dipped and how many double dipped cones were sold? This is my son's math question and I can not help him with it. Can any of you?

Problem:

500 units sold

Single scoop = $1.75

Double scoop = $2.25

Total = $930

1.75x + 2.25(500-x) = 930

1.75x+1125-2.25x=930

Rearrange the equation

-0.50x=-195

0.50x=195

X=390

This means that 390 units of single scoops were sold leaving 110 units of double scoops

Check:

$1.75*(390) + $2.25*(500-390) = $930

$682.5+$247.5 = $930

$930 = $930 Checks
