Should not news reporting organizations have to remain neutral, and only report news, instead of trying to influence the news with their biased programming and reporters/journalists (i use the term journalist loosely)

The U.S. government tried to mandate fairness in media before. They called it the "Fairness Doctrine," and it gave media explicit rules about equal coverage and how much of each issue they had to address.
But it was a blatant violation of the First Amendment, so it was disregarded.
You can't tell the press what they can't publish in the U.S. It's called "prior restraint," and it's very hard to legally justify.

Absolutely. The problem with your mentality is, "who decides which news organizations push political agendas." Republicans believe ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS push political agendas. Democrats believe that only Fox pushes a political agenda.
Your thought process will allow whatever party is in power to decide who pushes an agenda and who doesn't. The "Fairness Doctrine" is actually a fascist attack against free speech. A liberal may like it now but they won't like it when the Republicans get power again some day.
Everybody should be allowed to push whatever agenda they want because it is too dangerous to allow someone else to decide who is and is not guilty.

News organizations have always had editorial types whose job it is to offer opinions. But the lines between news and editorial seem more blurred than ever. Seems reasonable with all of the changes in how we get our news that we see an evolution in the nature of news reports in that respect. I also think its near impossible to not lean more one way or the other. News professionals are people too.
