Anyone know anything about canopy beds?

I just bought my daughter a canopy bed, but the top part doesn't actually come with the canopy drapery itself. So far all my internet searches come up with those mosquito-net type things, some of which are cute but aren't made for a frame.

Can I just use a sheet or something? Or where do I look for a drapery that fits? It's for a little girl's twin bed. Your advice is appreciated.

I purchased the canopy frame and drapes very economically at sears. They have them in the catalogue. I purchased each of my daughters the canopy fabric for the top, and the drapes that hang down. Pink, of course! I'll try to find a link...

Ooops... it was Penny's not Sears. Here's a link:

Ok I have a canopy bed and I had to make my own curtains for it. It is really simple.

Take your measurements to any WalMart, Ben Franklin's, or Fabric Store. Find a material that you like and have them cut the amounts that you need. Add 2 inches to the length (from the top of canopy to where you want it to hang to).

Then you simply fold the fabric over and use a hand held stitch machine, make a loop hole for the canopy bars. I folded one inch over and then the very ends, I folded into the seam and then I stitched it.

This way you can find the exact design that you want and that will match your daughters room.

After thoughts:

Oh and hem the bottom to prevent fraying. I also left out to get pieces.......like cut each section of the bed into a right side and left side curtain instead of a solid piece. so you can open it up. You can even get fancy with the stitch machine and get some fancy trim fabric. I did not do the top of my bed, but it would be cute to add a top sham with like some lace stitched all around the ends.
