Difference Between Four Poster and Canopy Beds?

Ok. I'm looking for a bed that looks like a canopy bed I guess. Like curtains on the side that are movable, kinda like a curtain rod at the top. And that also have a cloth "roof" over the head. I'm looking on google but can't find anything other than beds that you have to tie the cloth to the poles. I wanna be able to move the curtain. SO what's the difference between the 2 types, and what would you call what I'm looking for? Any links are welcomed, thanks for any answers.

A four poster is just what it says... four posts

a "canopy" bed has a "roof" or canopy

It can also have side curtains, although this is extremely rare now, because the curtains block heat/ac.....

You are looking for a "canopy with side curtains", they are made the way you describe ...curtain rods mounted to the canopy frame....

your looking for a canopy bed with side curtains a four poster bed just has posts on the head and foot-boards..........you can find some canopy beds that have a metal canopy that goes on the four posters and you can remove it when your ready for a change. The more expensive beds use actual wood for the canopy. Check out JC Penneys they use to have a few. Have fun decorating your room.
