What would be the best 2 stars Hotel/ Hostel for one night stay in Madrid, Spain?
I would like to get advices and comments from people outside Spain. You may say why? Is just because I want a non-nationalist answer, I mean, people from Spain may defend more the services of there. Just because of that. In general, any advice and comment will be good for me. Thank you.

I stayed at Hostal Cruz Sol on the end of Plaza Mayor. The main reason I chose it was its location. I wanted to be right there. It was PERFECT! It WAS, however, pretty difficult to locate the first time, but as with everything, you get to know where to go and how to get around, pretty quickly.
Once there, the best thing that we found was that the people in the cafe on the ground floor were terrific! The people IN the hostal were fine, as well, but I really liked the guy who served me my breakfast every morning...He was very nice. I'm sure he has since moved on to another place...contracts and all that.
It was fairly inexpensive, and very nice/decent/clean. Just what I expect of a good Hostal....I can't remember the star rating. But I was pleased enough to have recommended it.
Many Americans don't understand the Hostal system, and probably don't even know. Most probably just go with the chains that they know, or where their travel agent places them, and those rarely include Hostals.
Get one that's not way out of the way. I stayed way up on a hill in Spain in a cool hostel with a view but it sucked because it was far up the hill and we got there late at night and nobody would answer the door. Search here:
Hostal Juvenille i think its called. i think its about 18euros i night from what i remember and they have the best breakfast included. its quite new and the internet room is fab. bathrooms are huge! and its about 10min walk from Grand via.
