Quad core vs. Pentium D dual core, need actual experience?

Ok, I built my own PC but used my old HP pavilion Media centers P. D - dual core 2.8 GHZ processor w/ Viiv technology. It works decent but finally bought an Intel duo core Quad 9300 (which hasn't arrived yet) If you have a Quad and can tell me what kind of performance increase I can expect ie. how fast screens load, ect. I'd appreciate it. Oh I have a Gigabyte P35-DS4 MoBo which is a fairly high rated board that'll support anything I can throw in it including crossfire (Dual video cards)

By the way I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit and 4 gigs of 667MHZ RAM

also my MoBo supports FSB 1333

I was using my friends duo core and can compare that with the Q9000 I was playing with at Best Buy. I really think that the duo core was more solid and a split end slower. Talking hair, though it could apply to football. Remember, the Quad core and X4 are designed for Vista. I read where they will do even better with Windows7.

computers can only go so fast. You still have to click. the processor is big. But having an insane amount of RAM is what makes your computer fly. Oh yea and the bus speed. the processor can be as fast as it wants. if there is no RAM or a shitty bus. It wont be that goodl

to answer your question ofcourse it will be faster(the number is higher)

Big difference. Run your benchmarks now, and then after.
