lol probably not i mean it might cause i never tried it lol but why don't you do it in a fire place, or a fire outside?

It will turn it funky colors. Don't do it. 

Use a paper shredder instead?

Don't do it!  Even if you're lucky, you will at least smoke the ceiling black.
