what subs should i get for my car?

i have a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada, basically the same thing as a blazer.

i was thinking about putting two 10'' or 12'' subs that rms at 300 watts or less.
i was wondering should i power each sub individually? or get a dual channel amp. and do you have any recommendations for subs and amps. i was looking for an overall of 600 rms or so, and maybe 1200 peak?

and for power will i need another battery? capacitors all that good stuff. i don't know to much about them so any info would be great thanks!

Get yourself two 12's.

The easiest configuration is to get two 12" single voice coil (SVC) 4 ohm subwoofers, wire them in parallel, and get a mono channel amplifier to power them both together. Wiring two 4 ohm, SVC subwoofers in parallel will present a 2 ohm load to the amplifier. Mono channel amplifiers are usually rated stable at 2 ohm. To see a diagram that better explains parallel wiring, read this:

You can find a selection of subwoofers at www.dominantcaraudio.com. Once you have selected 2 subwoofers, you will need to find an amplifier to match to your subwoofers. If you have picked out 2 subwoofers that are SVC and 4 ohm, then all you have to do is go to the amplifier category of dominantcaraudio.com, and find a mono channel amplifier that matches the TOTAL RMS watt rating of BOTH of you subwoofers combined, and at the same time it has to be at that watt rating at 2 ohms.

For example, lets say that your total watt rating is X. You just look for a mono channel amplifier with this sepecification:

(x)watts RMS x 1 @ 2 ohm.

Good Luck. Let me know if you are still confused about something.

P.S. That website has price match guarantee, they will beat or match any competitors price.

You wont need another battery or anything for that much power. As for the amp I would go with powering them with one amp.
I have 2 subs in one box with a mono block amp myself.

hope this helps
