she has had no major problems up to this point thank god . i wonder is there ever any complications with having children associated with this birth defect

Your biggest worry with this one is that you make sure anyone that might come in contact with your child in a medical way knows this. Especially emergency personnel. I would consider a bracelet or necklace for the baby that tells this about them. It could mean the difference between life and death if the child ever were to be in a situation to need an ambulance or emergency treatment of some kind. God forbid but it could happen. Good luck with baby and congratulations. God must have thought you were the best parent for this little one to have given it to you.
