A troll on a message board or chat room is someone just looking to cause trouble by posting things that incite other posters to get angry. Some people get a kick out of causing chaos.
A mythical troll is a short, ugly creature that often lives under a bridge. They are sometimes called ogres as well. Trolls are not nice.

a internet troll is a obnoxious human who has nothing better to do but bother people. the best way of dealing with trolls is to ignore them, if you give them attention they will bug you so bad that you'd wish to smash their face against the sidewalk. there is also the troll from norse mythology, those creatures are described as being very ugly, very stupid, they feed on human newborns and women, live under bridges and abduct passing travellers, myth trolls are vulnerable to sunlight it turns them to stone.
