why is my hair suddenly greasy?

It's just started recently. It never used to be like this at all. I noticed that it started after i got a new shampoo and conditioner (herbal essences, honeyed pear). So then i tried other shampoos and conditioners i used to use. It didn't help. Then i tried not using conditioner, and it still didnt make a difference. I usually put it up at night and the next day it used to be really silky and nice, now its really gross and i can feel it. It's okay the first day i wash it, but by the second day it's greasy and feels bad too. I can even see the roots and they look oily. I have to wash it everyday now and straighten it too, or it looks really bad. This was more of an overnight thing, not gradual, which surprised me more. If i brush it from the roots to the tip, it doesn't fall like it used to. It looks super flat on the top too. Why did this happen so suddenly? And what can I do for it to stop and go back to the way it used to be? Like what shampoos work for this kind of hair? And don't tell me to stop washing it everyday cause I'm not going to school with greasy hair. (I'm 15). And i can't stop straightening it cause then it looks worse and greasier. I really miss my old hair. Please help!

it's called puberty. same happened to me. just means ur finally old enough to wash and shower everyday. if that's not it, did the weather change? that might cause it. or try changing ur sheets and pillow case. idk. good luck! :) have happy holidays! :)

i think it is becuase of the straighting that your hair is greasy. if you constantly bombard your hair with ditergent (shampoo) and straighten it and dry it, PLUS the cool dry weather mixed with heat from radiators, it can really produce some excess oil. plus, your 15 so ur still going through puberty, so that can be an issue.

my recommendation is to just buy a soft shampoo (like baby shampoo) and conditioner. wash your hair every day at night.

There is such a thing as a healthy amount of oil on your scalp and skin, and if you continue to wash it off, your body will continue to increase production. I don't know about baking powder, but baby powder works really good, and there is a new product out that has a kind of powder for blond, brown, red hair... I want to say I saw it on HSN or QVC, but not sure.

this befell to me additionally. heres what i did: dont touch your hair. oils out of your hands will flow on your hair dont use conditioner: in case you extremely choose your hair to be non greasy then use merely shampoo and make constructive each and all the shampoo is rinsed out. run your hair under the sink or faucet and make certain you have thouroughly gotten all of it out. positioned your hair up: while ever your on my own or putting out byurself, pull backyour hair out of your face so the oil out of your brow dont rub off. desire this helps. and beleive it or no longer, yet each and every physique has greasy hair while your on your childrens.

When you grow up, your hair and skin produces more oil, theres no solution. Why do you straighten it? Well, it will dry out your hair...Use a theroputic shampoo that you can buy at CVS!!
