I disconnected the electric to my 2002 GMC sierra truck and now the radio theft device has locked .?

We had to replace the fuel pump in my car yesterday and the battery was disconnected while we worked on it. I don't know what the code is to be able to use the radio now that the truck is repaired. I called the car dealership and they said they could call GM to get an over ride code but that it would cost me $90.00. Does anyone know how to retreive the code or over ride the system so I can use my truck radio again?

Hi, i've had the same problem on my 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, I disconnected the battery when I went away on vacation. I came back hookaed it up and I had the radio asking me for a code. I argued over and over again on the telephone, and there was nothing i could do. Thats why GM does that so they can sucker people into paying good money for a 5 digit code. So yeah bring the truck to the dealership, and have them do it for you. Hope this helped.

When the car was new it came with a card that had the code on it. The dealership recommends you keep it in a safe place with the spare key.

If you're lucky somebody put the card with the code in the owners manual. Not to hot an idea because a thief would know to take everything in the glove box.

My dealership kept a record of the code. When I brought car in for service they were able to keep my radio working. But unfortunately they went out of business last year :-(
