Does the old city of Chu Lai have another name today?

I have not been able to find Chu Lai on the map.

Chu Lai is still Chu Lai and it's still south of Da Nang. Chu Lai might be eclipsed by the nearby and much more popular city of Hoi An. My wife and I missed visiting Chu Lai during our last trip though the area, because it was raining like the dickens when we were there.

From what I've heard, the base and surrounding area has been relatively quiet since the Vietnam War ended, but that may change soon. Plans are in the works to convert the area into an industrial complex with the base and nearby natural harbor as the foundation for it. The old air base is being converted into an international and logistics airport. The harbor will be upgraded to accept container ships.

I would think Chu Lai would be worthy of a visit if it would stop raining long enough to get there and see it.

I don't know any city name like that in Vietnam. There is only an industrial zone in Quang Nam province called Chu Lai, but that's not really well-known.
