How to use an Alias on Yahoo Messanger 9.0?

My e-mail address is just [my name] @ yahoo.com but when I am using messanger to talk to some people I met on a message board. I don't want them to have my last name, so I went to the change my Account Info and added an alias. My messages still show my Yahoo ID.

How can I change this?

When logging in Yahoo messenger, log in your alias ID and same password to your real account. Try it and hope it will work, I tried it before and it did not show up my real account and info. Hope this help, Good luck!
