I have been seeing a lot of those in ads lately, about faster than 802.11g routers, called 802.11n, but apparently they are not going to finalize the standard until Nov 2009, so they are called draft N. So is it OK to buy them then?

Yes, as they're pretty mature, and the standard's set at this point. Really, the IEEE moves glacially, and sometimes codifies things years after they're in common and uniform application. 802.11n is no diffeent, and while very early (2006) ones were rather quirky at best, even companies like Intel are now putting compliant chipsets into machines (Centrino 2). Plus, if type "n":suddenly changed, not that it will, your new router will still work in 802.11b and 802.11g modes.

It would be QUITE sad if they sold all those routers and then screwed with the standards.
Most people say that, at least from a hardware perspective, draft n is here to stay in its current form; any other problems or revisions to the standard will be released in the form of a firmware update for your router, should the need arise. Worst comes to worst, it's always g, b, and maybe even a-backwards compatible.

They are okay just make sure that they are G compatable. If yourr or your friends wireless network adapter can only handle G than you will lose your connectivity. Most of these routers are backwards compatable but please just make sure.
