Can my son's name have an Accent mark?

I want to name him DonViar But want to spell it DonViár (Don-Vee-air)
I guess i prefer it to have a french sound but really want that accent mark, but if it doesn't make sense then i will dispose of it! help thanks. I don't know much about french language and tried googling but didn't make sense. I know it's an acute accent mark.

i'm african american and everyone loves the name. It's better than John, Matthew and Michael. Too common! He needs something made up, in which i did. :)

I like the name it's very cool and unique. Only use the accent mark if it's needed for spelling for pronunciation. An acute accent can only be used on an E in french it says that on this page. i wouldn't use an accent. Please look at these and explore these pages. http://french.about.com/od/pronunciation/a/accents.htm
Good luck.

Well, I do know french. I would suggest not using it unless you are around an at least slightly French community. In French, it's an Accent Aigu. Plus, even with the accent it wouldn't be pronounced exactly how you want it to be. It would be better to ditch the accent and spell it DonViair instead. Probably shouldn't use a name with accents you don't understand.

Please, don't try and place an accent mark if you don't speak, are not, or no nothing about french, especially when creating your own name. And, even if you did that, I'm sorry but you'd be laughed at by French people because that makes no sense if you put it there, especially with the spelling of the name (it wouldn't be present in a French word or name).

I'm sorry if this makes no sense, but bottom line, don't throw an accent in there- it will make you look foolish.

In french that is known as the accent agu. There are many people with an accent agu in their name.

ya

I reccomend Paul though or if you're that obssesed with making your baby have an 'intresting' name, then name it Trogdor or something. Also you could move to France or Quebec.

p.s. When was the last time you met a Paul? Its a less common name than you think.
