It's inherent in human behavior to do wrong. It isn't teenage girls, it's humans.

Teens Steal for a lot of reasons
Necessity:
(1) You might have a kid who has gotten themselves into trouble and they don't know how to ask their parents for the money.
(2) You may have kids whose parents are neglectful and they steal money so they can eat.
Adrenaline Rush/Acting Out:
(1) A lot of kids that steal from their parents do it to see if they can.
(2) Some do it for attention.
Want:
(1) They want to purchase something that they know their parents will not pay for otherwise...IE Drugs, Alcohol, new clothes etc.
(2) They may have a drug or alcohol problem...
Trusting Parents:
(1) Some parents are just simply not good judges of character and they are so lenient that they make it very easy and maybe even tempting to steal from them.
(2) Parents are not teaching their children ethics, or not punishing them for violating codes of ethics.
The list could go on and on..but what it all boils down to is DISHONESTY...and that is a learned behavior. And when I say dishonesty, I don't mean solely on the part of the child...but parents should pay attention to what they teach their children...especially what they teach them inadvertently.
Enlightened
Because they are probably selfish and spoiled and think their parents won't notice or won't do anything about it. Some may just be that desperate...
