When can I do my Taxes?

Hello. I'm in the Military and last year I did my taxes on the 24th of march of 08. This will be my second time doing them so can I do them now or when should I do them. ?????????? what would be the best way to do them to get the most return out of my fed and state taxes?

You can do your taxes just as soon as you have received all of the W-2's and 1099's that you have coming. They are supposed to be sent to you no later than January 31st. IRS will not begin processing returns until January 16th.
There are some exemptions and deductions that apply *only* to military members. You should have your unit's tax adviser review your return to be sure you haven't missed any. this is a free service for you and one of the benefits of being in the military.
