Taxes, taxes, who's getting taxed?
This is long, I know, couldn't tell it any shorter.
Yesterday I saw the light! I had the observation of a lifetime. I was driving home from work, and passed my favorite little Italian place, a small family owned business here in Los Angeles I've gone there for so many years, everyone knows the owner, Good guy donates to the school where I work.. I smelled the garlic sauce and say "Yum pizza sounds good right now", but I don't get paid till next week, so no pizza. Then I stopped at the light and saw the guys at the Hand Wash, Car Wash sitting outisde, my car is filthy and they can get it done in about 15 min for $10, but, nope no money. Then it was clear.
These 2 examples of businesses that I frequent I know they make over $250,000 a year. They both have probably around 10-20 employees mostly minorities, lower income. If right now, I can't afford these little things (and I am a teacher, so my pay is okay) then most likely alot of people can't.
If under Obama, these two owners are taxed higher, they will increase product or service price and or lay off employees. Which is not good for me, or the employee losing his job or sent home early without pay. In turn, that owner will use the services in his neighborhood less, whether it be a maid, barber, or Restaurant.
So my question is, how many people out there know business owners that fall into this category and see the prevalence of his plan ruining our system?
Or is it just me?
Tired of.. No quite the opposite, one will not have more money because they will have their hours slashed by their employers, do you really think the car wash owner will pay 8 guys to sit around all day for only a hand full of cars? No he will send 4 guys home.

Point taken. People are spending less money because they HAVE less money to spend. Demand drives all economic activity. That's why we are in this collapsing spiral in the first place. More money to spend means more businesses to spend it at. It's not rocket science.

For those of us who are on a "Fixed" Income it's really HARD! This means that we get paid ONCE a MONTH! We get paid the SAME paltry AMOUNT... NO bonuses, no overtime, no nothing! You get a "cost-of-living" raise of a few cents and then they raise your health care 150% of that!
And when you've got kids it really makes it hard!! You have to always be trying to explain to them why they can't have that new bike like the kid down the street whose mom's on welfare has, or those great new Nike Shocks that the same kid's mom just bought him. The list goes on forever!! We're paying for our home, all utilities, food, medical, etc.
She has a fantastic house with Section 8 that she pays $26.00 a month for that includes EVERYTHING! She also gets food stamps, free lunches for her kids, ALL MEDICAL FREE... the list goes on!
Now if that isn't bull dookie I don't know what is!!
So, it's most definitely not just workers that are feeling the pinch! I worry about the elderly that are getting a lot less than we even are and here it's getting cold! Look at the taxes OBAMA'S said he's putting on heating oil!! If HE WINS how many of them are going to freeze to death?!!!

Here is one for you.
Dominos pizza will be going to a call center for all of it's phone orders if Obama wins. All of the people that work in the stores answering phones will be out of a job so the company can save money because of the increased tax burden. I almost forgot, the call center that will be taking your order will be out of country. After they take your order they will send it over the net to the store in your area.

Actually you are missing the point. If your taxes are lowered then you'll have more money to spend. You won't have to pass up the pizza or the car wash, so they'll make more money! This extra income will offset the extra taxes they'll pay.
It was proven under Clinton that if the middle class does well then everybody does well. The middle class spend money! and that's what drives our economy.
Tax breaks for the rich only make them invest more, not spend more. As we've seen over the last 8 years, investing doesn't do anything to put real money in peoples pockets.
*PS Most people point to Regan and his "trickle down" economics, but the gain was short lived. And some economist blame Regan for the tax increases that Bush (h. w.) had to implement.

I am one of those business owners.
Obamas "plan" will force me to cut back on everything including employees.
Starting fiscal year 1 July 2009 my employees will have to pay a portion into their medical/dental/life insurance plans. This is a first for us, and not a good first.

Look into the CAPITAL GAINS taxes also, and 401K tax that falls under your income when you cash it out. Obamas Tax Plan is scary if you do some Research on EVERYTHING he plans on taxing....

to the guy who said the $250k doesn't apply to small businesses... most small businesses absolutely do fall in the category that would be affected if they make over $250k

That would be me! We currently employ 125 but if BO wins we will be forced to cut our work force approximately 40%!

I know several. How can people think this is ok? Do they just not listen? And why isn't McCain hammering it more in the debates?

The $250K figure you're referring to is for income taxes on individuals, not businesses. Businesses are taxed differently than that.
