I am looking for a bean recipe like I had at my Aunt's. She's gone now or I'd ask her. ?

It doesn't have meat in it or very little. It have many different kinds of beans and made in a skillet. It was on the sweet side.

I think the best we can do for you is to suggest you build your own.
Do whatever you remember.
If you remember green beans and yellow beans and red kidney beans, do that.
Add tastes that you recall coming into play until you have found something that you enjoy. It may never be the same as hers, but that doesn't mean you cant create something based on her dish, that you love.
Good luck

I make a bean dish with kidney beans, onion, bell pepper. I add a little molasses and pineapple chunks for sweetness.

I'm guessing your aunt's dish is similar. She probably uses one of those dry bean mixes that has about 8 different kinds of beans in it. You can find this at large supermarkets. You'd soak the bean mix for a few hours. Cook the beans according to the package directions. Then the cooked beans would be transferred to a skillet to add the other ingredients.

Another version of a sweet bean recipe that I've eaten, but not made, is made by frying 3 or strips of bacon--crisp. You crumble the bacon and set it aside. Put the beans into the skillet of bacon drippings. Heat them through add some molasses for sweetness.

Hope that helps. But, sounds like your aunt has her own special recipe that you miss very much.
