How do you focus or meditate when running?

After running a distance my concentration and focus goes out the door from the normal pains of pushing your body another mile. Is there a way to practice a meditation technique that will help me put my mind at ease and focus when the going gets tough? Not a religion just a meditation technique I can use during the run!

Just remember that pain/fatigue is weakness leaving the body and that sooner or later whatever gets you real tired today will become very easy tomorrow. maybe you not eating right before running so watch out for bad carbs like sugars and processed foods which tend to weaken your running ability.

i meditate by taking my mind off the running and thinking about anything else, i just program my mind to run and run till im finished and during the process i think about the day before or plans for the current day etc.

your problem is not really about concentration or focusing, what you experience is called fatigue and that goes away with proper eating and resting. good luck...

I focus on the music on my Ipod and sing it in my head. I'm also just good at ''zoning out'', I just stare straight ahead at the long road ahead and think I'm doing something most people aren't. Most people are in their bed sleeping and here I am able to do this effortlessly and I keep thinking good thoughts.

Once your breathing calms down, focus on the rhythm of your breaths and strides. Count them up and you will find that you lose track of everything around you before you even know it.

Just think: "If I stop now, how will I get home?"
That keeps me going on my long runs.
