Can you hear this sound? Please help me with my school project!?

I'm doing a survey for a school project, and need to know if you can hear this sound:

http://www.freemosquitoringtone.org/tones/18798.mp3

Please respond with your age (this is the most important part!) and 'yes' or 'no' (whether you heard the sound or not). Ignore the clicking noise... that is just the audio sound turning on. If your ears are able, you will hear an annoying squealing sound.

Set your speakers at a level you normally listen to music... not too loud, and not too soft.

Thank you!

p.s. you may have to listen to the mp3 file several times... each time you hit play, it only runs about 3 seconds.

I'm 25 years old and I did hear the noise. It is a very high pitched noise that some really can not hear. The reason is because some people (not all) when they were young listened to music at a very high volume or were at a concert and stood close to the speakers. I doing so, they damaged a very crucial part in the ear drum named the auditory ossicle. Hear is an example of the high pitch noise you hear. If you have ever played a video game (for instance, medal of honor) and a grenade goes off right beside you, the "ringing" that the grenade made is the noise that you are describing. It's not a squealing sound, its just a very high pitched noise that some people just can not hear. Hopefully this helps with what you are doing.

I couldnt hear it at first, but i realized the speakers player setting was off. AS soon as I turned it on my ears were ringing like crazy/ high pitched hum. Its not a squeal its more like a ringing ears in your head sound and it actually hurts if its up loud!

IM 21

I'm 20, but couldn't hear any squealing sound. [I have pretty good hearing too, and haven't damaged my hearing with loud music or concerts]

This is very fascinating though. How come lots of people around my age could hear it?

This reminds me of when my uncle had a high-pitched noise that he couldn't hear, but I could. Wonder why I can't hear yours..
