Which conference is more talented?
I'd still say West is better top to bottom, but I think the east is vastly underrated. 3 of the best 4 teams in the NBA are from the East.

I think the East is the better conference now. Look, the West has the Lakers and a bunch of dying powers. The Mavs, Suns, and even Spurs to an extent are shells of the powerhouses that they were 2-3 years ago. New Orleans, Denver, Portland, Houston, and Utah all look good but they are too inconsistent. In the East you have the Magic, Celtics, and Cavaliers who would probably be in most everyone's top 5 in the NBA. The Pistons are always competitive, The Sixers are on the rise. Let's face it, the East is rising the and the West is dying.

The West. There are nine teams with a win percentage over .500 in the West, and only 6 in the East. Its true that 3 of the 4 best are in the east, but from overall the west is better.

The East has the most powerful teams, but also have the weaker teams.
The West has teams that are all the same level..
I'd still go with the West, it's going to be another 9 man race for the 8th playoff spot, and one will go home after 82 games.

^^^ thats the all star game.. and the west during the season is always close, without a doubt the best. if the celtics were in here, they would never have easy games twice a week. the west is really tough. in the east there is about 5 good teams (celtics,magic,cavaliers,hawks,pistons)
- you could make an arguement for 10 teams in the west.
