NBA: Western Conference or Eastern Conference?

Top 3 East > Top 3 West

Top 8 West > Top 8 East

I think the East is the better conference now. Look, the West has the Lakers and a bunch of dying powers. The Mavs, Suns, and even Spurs to an extent are shells of the powerhouses that they were 2-3 years ago. New Orleans, Denver, Portland, Houston, and Utah all look good but they are too inconsistent. In the East you have the Magic, Celtics, and Cavaliers who would probably be in most everyone's top 5 in the NBA. The Pistons are always competitive, The Sixers are on the rise. Let's face it, the East is rising the and the West is dying.

The West. There are nine teams with a win percentage over .500 in the West, and only 6 in the East. Its true that 3 of the 4 best are in the east, but from overall the west is better.

The East has the most powerful teams, but also have the weaker teams.

The West has teams that are all the same level..

I'd still go with the West, it's going to be another 9 man race for the 8th playoff spot, and one will go home after 82 games.

- come on ? kobe,cp3,duncan,yao,amare? 2 of those guys are legends (kobe,duncan) and the rest will be legends (well maybe not amare).

^^^ thats the all star game.. and the west during the season is always close, without a doubt the best. if the celtics were in here, they would never have easy games twice a week. the west is really tough. in the east there is about 5 good teams (celtics,magic,cavaliers,hawks,pistons)

- you could make an arguement for 10 teams in the west.

Im going with the east this year. Basically there is only 8-10 teams in the west that are above average team, in the east almost every team is in playoff position and therefor have better teams. Theres more competition in the East because from the 6-8 spot theres about 6-8 teams fighting for it.

West mainly, even though I live in a state that has a basketball team in the Eastern Conference.
