So we illegally held all of these people in Gitmo...?

... for all this time, with some getting released at times AND we have the audacity to expect them to return to wherever it is they came from and live quiet, sedentary lives?

Right now on Yahoo, there's a story about how 11 former Gitmo prisoners are on the Saudi most wanted list.

If a people held me prisoner in a place like Gitmo for even a day, I would invest the remainder of my life in lashing out against those people.

Is anyone really surprised by this?

Not surprised, but very disappointed with the way the media continues to use it to try and keep us living in fear. While I to would commit the remainder of my life getting even with those who had illegally imprisoned me for so long, this is the problem with what we have done over the last 8 years. A lot of people will say we are wrong and these people wanted to kill us all along, I believe they have bought into the thought that says we should live in fear and the whole world wants us dead. That is a line the Neo-cons have pushed since the 60's it is part of the "new world order" where they want to have complete control over the middle east. Look up Leo Strauss and Straussism as related to PNAC Doctrine. Strauss says we have to have a common enemy to get together behind and now it is the muslims.

The return to devious deeds probably has little to do with Gitmo. Even American civilian prisoners, who are all treated in a "legal" civilized manner have an extremely high rate of repeat criminal activity. There are some prople who are just like being bad. Suprised? Not really, but you're barking up the wrong tree is you think we are to blame for crazy, bomb weilding terrorists.

Really? You know what life is like at Gitmo? Perhaps doing some research would improve your point of view as well as your argument. What are the different camp names in Gitmo? Where are the dangerous prisoners held? What are the conditions of their quarters in that place? How many guards are on hand monitoring the situation? What safeguards are in place to protect against prisoner abuse? How easy would it be to abuse a prisoner?

By holding people at Gitmo with little or no evidence against them, not telling them why they are there, and not giving them a trial, the USA has done nothing but fuel more and more hate, and so create more and more potential terrorists.

If there was any proof against these people, Obama should have them taken to proper prisons, and tried in proper courts. If not, he has no choice but to let them go, as many have been let go in the past.

Gitmo has solved nothing - fact.

And what makes you think that these people were innocent in the first place?

The man who planned 9/11 is in Gitmo - do you want him released?
