Did anyone hear that the committee for the stimulus package?
Just on the news a minute ago they said that the cap on CEO's taking TARP money that Obama said last week would be in the bill is now OUT. There will be no cap on their salaries like we have been told..go figure. Is this something else that is being slipped into the bill?

To those who have said it's the Reps that had this taken out of the stimulus package..sources please instead of just blaming and haven't you heard N. Pelosi "we won the election we write the bill" saying. You actually think that the Reps have any power to add or take out anything..come on.

Not surprising at all. I think what happened with the cap is mainly because the media, who promote Obama like there is no tomorrow, would have to take serious cuts in pay. For example: MSNBC. We all know the way they covered Obama leading up to the election was completely bias and one sided. Now Keith Olberman who is on MSNBC every night at 8 makes 7 mil a year, and being on the board, he would have to take a pay cut. Do you think he would take that much of a cut? No way. Not to mention, Brian Williams, who is the evening news anchor on NBC at 6:30 is also on the board, maybe not the CEO, but defenitly in charge of the goings on at 1 rocafeller plaza, would have to also take a huge paycut.
Now as we all know, the tv media is as biased as the winter snow is cold. They played an integral role in getting Obama votes via exposure, exposure, exposure and not covering the actual issues with him like Rev. Wright and his affiliation with his church. Do you actually think after 20 years as a member he never once heard a sermon like the one caught on tape? Come on. They never followed it up, simply agreed with his excuse. With that, they helped convince the public everything was ok and BO wasnt a hate monger like his preist.
Do you now see why the cap was eliminated? Its simple really. Its all about votes.

Sounds like the republicans are on a tear again... but we shall see. After all, they're the ones who see dollar signs where the Democrats see PEOPLE.
It amazes me that the uneducated think that Obama would want that removed, yet the 'Pubs don't want a cap anyway... typically, the 'Pubs want it both ways: remove salary caps, then 'blame' Obama for doing what they want. Huh??????
Yet-another glaring example of being uneducated: the salary cap is/was for Wall Streeters whose companies received TARP funds (= taxpayer money); it has NOTHING - ZIP - ZERO - ZILCH to do with Olbermann, MSNBC, et al.,.much less any obese drug-addled hypocritical overpaid fascist windbag 'entertainers' on the radio. Sheesh!!!!
I hadn't heard that. But not surprised. First, it shouldn't happen. Don't get me wrong...the CEOs are making the wrong decision when it comes to bonuses, salaries, etc. But in the PRIVATE SECTOR we tend to oust those people. We don't ask the government to come in and start running the business. Government needs to stay out of some areas. But I am also not surprised if they lied about it and took it out.
What we need to do is get rid of all these creative financial geniuses, and get some people in with responsibility. There's a reason these guys have tanked the economy. Look at their bank balances. ∠°)
