Internet speed recommended for Xbox live?

Question

I have 512kbps internet, which I imagine isn't fast enough to enjoy Xbox live, and I want to know the speed you recommend for Xbox live. By the way I'm getting a wireless network adapter to use the internet, otherwise I would need about 60 ft of Ethernet cable. I mainly plan on using the internet to download stuff for the games I have, not play on Xbox Live Gold.

if your just going to download extras it should be fast enough but you need it to be faster to play on gold or it will be extremely laggy

Mine is slow at times. The game play can be horrible when it does that. So I would say medium or high connection speed.

If it's cellular or satellite you might have some problems.
