you don't use the points for anything except for asking questions.

You can use them to ask question here (as you know) it costs 5 points and gain levels to left limits see more here http://answers.yahoo.com/info/scoring_system;_ylt=AoMXFrZJIEdW6JL_8r9UJR_59xd.;_ylv=3 about levels. But in the getting stuff like prizes that does not happen.
