I purchased a US PS3, and play Region 1 and Region 4 DVDs no problem. I purchased a DVD (The Police- Synchronicity concert) that says it's region 2-6. Since I've already played Region 4 discs without any issues, I tought noting about it.
But what I got is a "This disc cannot be played - the region code is not correct"
Anybody knows what's up with this?

The Playstation 3 is not a region free DVD player, chances are the region 4 disk you had in the player very poorly conformed to its region standards or is was a copy that fell into early adopters of the technology. You can pick up a region free DVD player for about 80 dollars or you can remove the region data using DVD decrypter and a blank disk.

once you're taking part in the DVD advance the menu on your controller for DVD Playback (the menu the place you are able to pause and play and pass scenes, and so on) and your "show techniques" are there.
