PS3 DVD Playback isn't working quite right. Won't full screen. How do I fix this?
I has a bit of a problem with DVD playback on my PS3, which, I think, is the 40gb model with backwards compatibility. I have an HDTV, and teh PS3 is set up for 720p with component cables, not HDMI. I gots the Simpsons season 8 (mah favorite season : D) on DVD for Christmas, and when I try to play it on my PS3, it appears in a tiny box. I've looked through all the video display options, and I couldn't find anything that looked like it might apply to making DVD playback fullscreeen. Can anyone help me out with this? It would rock to be able to watch the Simpsons on my TV, instead of being forced to watch it on my PC. Thanks.

Step One: Go to your settings icon on your PS3 Home Screen
Step Two: Scroll down to your Video Settings icon
Step Three: Click on the Video Settings icon
Step Four: Scroll down to the BD / DVD Upscaler icon
Step Five: Click on the BD / DVD Upscaler icon
Step Six: Scroll down to Full Screen
Step Seven: Click on Full Screen
This should allow movies that aren’t upscaled to full screen on the Normal setting to up upscaled to full screen. If the image looks a little blurry to you (which sometimes happens on Full Screen mode) just move up your TV’s sharpness setting till the image isn’t too blurry. Remember after you finish watching a film on these settings to change it back to Normal and return the sharpness back to were it was before hand because Blue Ray movies don’t need these settings.

When you are playing the DVD bring up the menu on your controller for DVD Playback (the menu where you can pause and play and skip scenes, etc) and your "Screen Options" are there.
