What causes excessive burping?

I can't narrow it down... I eat the same things everyday.. coffee, grapefruit, cream of wheat, salad, more coffee....
Sometimes I get it... sometimes I don't. The other day I woke up with a bad stomach ache, had coffee, still had stomach ache, had cream of wheat, stomach ache went away, had a piece of chocolate an hour before lunch, stomach ache returned, had a salad for lunch and stomach ache went away.
Could I be lactose intolerant SOME of the time???

You have the most classic sign of gastric reflux-- frequent burping and an upset stomach eased by eating.
Try adjusting your diet to a less acidic one. Google "reflux precautions" and follow the advice..
Coffee, grapefruit and other acidic foods, and even high fat foods like chocolate will cause reflux.

Has she been checked for ulcers by her Dr?? There is one form of bacteria that causes an ulcer that also causes gas and burping. I had it and my Dr. treated me with 3 drugs for a week, amoxicillan, losec, and metronidazole.
