The stop lights on my truck quit working so I replaced the brake light switch and the worked for a short while and now they have quit working again...the running light and the emergency flashers work but nothing happens when brake pedal is depressed...good bulbs, sockets ETC...any suggestions ??? Thanks in advance

Does the 3rd (cab mounted) brake light work? If not, then it is the brake pedal switch (assuming the bulbs are good in the cab brake light). Also make sure that the switch is not sticking.

If the 3rd brake works, but others do not, your problem lies in the multi-function switch. The signal switch may have failed, and it isn't cheap to replace so be sure to rule it out! Your turn signals/4-way flashers may continue to work, depending on where it has failed.

Boogie nailed it. the multifunction switches used in those Years of GM trucks were nothing short of junk. I've changed many due to the same problem you are describing.
